Each year in Asia, millions of dogs are snatched from the streets or stolen from their homes to be tortured and slaughtered for their meat. When Soi Dog Foundation took on Thailand’s illegal trade in dog meat, up to half a million dogs were being illegally smuggled out of the country each year. Stolen to fill demand in neighbouring countries, these dogs faced the most horrific fate. The trade has now been all but decimated and tens of thousands of dogs have been saved.
